Mar 24: Elephant Butte Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament
8am register; 9am shotgun, Sierra del Rio Golf Course, Turtleback Mountain Resort, Elephant Butte Entry fee includes green fees, golf cart, and lunch. There will be 4-person teams and a "Two Best Ball." This annual event is a fundraiser for the Elephant Butte Chamber of Commerce. Registration forms are available at Sierra del Rio Golf Course. Chloride / Pioneer Store & Gallery
Chloride offers a Historic District with the"Hanging Tree" in the center of mainstreet. The Pioneer Store & Gallery is in a retored mercantile that once supplied miners and early residents with goods.

Percha Dam State Park
The park is covered with a blanket of grass protected by cottonwood, salt cedar and Russian olive trees. The park provides excellent fishing and bird watching along the river. Swimming and sunbathing are also activities enjoyed by park visitors.

Pinos Altos
Six minutes and 1500 feet above Silver City is the old mining town of Pinos Altos [Tall Pines]. It was once a thriving gold mining town of 9000 when Silver City was but a tent or two. It was first named Birchville and gold was discovered in 1837.

Cibola National Forest
The portion of the Cibola National Forest in Southwest New Mexico contains the Datil and Gallinas Mountains north of the communities of Datil and Magdalena. The Apache Kid Wilderness lies within the forest.



Reserve / Glenwood
The frontier community of Reserve is the largest town in the county and serves as the county seat. 

Lordsburg
